One of the reasons we set up our second home in Doniford/Watchet was the surrounding areas that are within a very short drive

Beaches

Minehead Beach

Minehead Beach

The sea at Doniford has the second fastest rising and lowering tide in the world, coming in up to 12 Metres above sea level and falling the same, twice a day.  When the sea is out, there is no sand, only pebbles but thats great for rock pool fishing and finding sea life and fossils.

If its a sandy beach you want, a 5 minute drive will bring you to a small, very quiet sandy beach.

If its a nice commercial beach you are looking for then turning right out of the park for 10 miles will bring you into Minehead.

Turning left out of the park, you are about 20 minute car drive into Burnham-On-Sea.

If you fancied a slightly longer drive then Weston-Super-Mare and Brean are about 30 miles away.
